Important terms related to Outsourcing / Multisourcing: Sourcing

       The term Sourcing  is described as the general term for the classic acquisition of products and/or the provision of services. Accordingly, IT-Sourcing is being described as the acquisition of IT-Products and –Provision of services. The generic term Outsourcing  is often used as a synonym for Sourcing.

Outsourcing

       A more common term for Sourcing is Outsourcing, although this term is often defined differently. Originally, it meant that an operation which had previously been handled internally would be performed by a external company. The specific meaning has become broader over time, however. Today, it's common for some some operations to be outsourced from the beginning.

Internal Outsourcing (or Captive Outsourcing )

       The  performance will be delivered by a intercompany markt, but it is still a legally and independent item.

External Outsourcing

       The performance is sourced by an external company.

Joint Venture

      Joint Venture means building an interim partnership. The service requestor and the service provider establish a company together.

Insourcing

       Insourcing is being described as the acquisition of a service inside a company. This term only declares the financial, but not the legal situation of the service provider. That means, that he can also be independent.

Offshore Sourcing

       Offshore Sourcing is described as services rendered from abroad (for example from Asia). Labor costs are the primary reasons for this.

Onshore Sourcing or Domestic Sourcing

       This term refers to services rendered by a domestic provider.

Nearshore Sourcing

      In Nearshore Sourcing, the service provider and requestor are located in countries which are not far from each other. For Germany, an example might be Prague or Budapest.
Application Outsourcing

Application Outsourcing  

      is described as the external procurement of business-relevant IT applications. Those applications are usually standard software; for example, Customer-Relationship Management (CRM) or Enterprise-Resource Planning (ERP) systems. These applications are partly customizable to the business requirements.Multi-Sourcing

Multisourcing

       This means outsourcing to many partners. In the case of T3NET, it means that the contractual partner and project planner is T3NET Germany, while development and programming will be performed by T3NET Thailand.
